They are identifying Themselves to ALL mankind -- NOT just those who are currently living in the ancient homeland of ancient Hellas. The person who wrote this is the worst kind of nationalist twit imaginable. ALL the Gods are far, far bigger than we can ever imagine. I believe in an uncountable multiplicity of pantheons. When a person actually experiences Their reality they can no longer go back.Julia Erganehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04613625453621934834noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2382184804747180588.post-31865495647023455832016-04-03T04:16:47.461-07:002016-04-03T04:16:47.461-07:00It's always kind of funny how these kinds of p...It's always kind of funny how these kinds of people are proud of Hellenic culture (as they should be) and how it spread across much of the known world (known by the ancients), yet conveniently ignore the fact that countless people over time were hellenised, became acculturated and assimilated into Hellenic culture. Even the ancient Macedonians weren't wholly considered Hellenes, though at least the elite probably was very much Hellenised. Thracians, Phrygians, Lydians, etc., so many people became Hellenes through participation in that culture and using that language... These kinds of arguments about blood are truly preposterous. Also, if the Gods are so bound to places, then how could the Hellenes have ever spread their worship as far and wide as they did?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
