Actually a little strange regarding the fact that these beings on a certain level even survived christianity: the the belief in Elves and Faeries in Scandinavia and UK, in nymphs in Greece, and many spirits (domovoj, leshy, vodjanoj) in Russia. I think it could be because these beings became part of our folklore and fairy tales. To think of a Kobold/Kabouter as a household deity is kind of new, let's not say strange.

What is the difference between paganism and Hellenismos? I thought that "paganism" was the term used for all pre-christian cults of Europe, and that Hellenismos was one of the forms of paganism?Sebbehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18416382440962420637noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2382184804747180588.post-56428055030430428662012-07-13T11:01:43.426-07:002012-07-13T11:01:43.426-07:00I find myself drawn to certain trees. I'm sure...I find myself drawn to certain trees. I'm sure it looks dorky, but I will actually hug them; and while it doesn't make sense - tree trunks are hard and rough and not very person-shaped - I always find myself settling into the hug as comfortably as I would hugging my mother or my partner. :) I can feel the coolness of the sap within, the quiet of its spirit. It is immensely comforting, and I always thank the tree afterwards for soaking away a little of my anxieties.
I'm convinced that there's more to a tree than gets written down in a biology book. Whether the tree itself has a spirit, or whether a nymph lives within the tree, or some other option...Memory Walkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12912400934007349604noreply@blogger.com
