The show focuses on the Valentine family, a group of ancient Hellenic Gods living amongst humans. They must keep their true identities secret as they do whatever it takes to bring soul mates together. In modern times however the Gods' methods have become less effective, and unless they improve their matchmaking skills they will end up becoming mortal. Jaime Murray plays Grace Valentine, aka the Goddess Aphrodite. Kristoffer Polaha plays Danny Valentine, Grace's son and the God Eros. Patrick Fabian plays Ray Howard, the God Hephaestos and Grace's first and former husband. Greg Ellis plays Ari Valentine, the God Ares, who is Grace's current husband. Autumn Reeser plays Phoebe Valentine, and the titan Phoebe. Robert Baker plays Leo Francisci-- also known as Hercules--and the non-God out is novelist Kate Providence (played by Christine Lakin) who helps the family bring together soul mates. Oh, there is also aunt Circe--yeah, the sorceress. She is played by Ann Magnuson.
I loved this show. Sure, it is insanely cheesy and the overall storyline never got a chance to go anywhere, but it was LGBT inclusive, light, and incredibly entertaining. Wikipedia has a teaser of all the episodes, and YouTube (beautiful YouTube) has all of the episodes uploaded, free to watch. Will you join me today for a marathon? Start below with episode one.
