Did you know that a reading of all 18,225 lines of text of The Iliad is available to watch online? The ambitious reading took place on August 14. It was read by 66 actors for an audience of more than 50,000 people across the world and in front of live audiences at the British Museum and the Almeida. The epic undertaking was the initiative of Cambridge classics professor Simon Goldhill.
The epic endeavor can be seen online at the Almeida’s website until September 21, 2016. All 68 sections of it!
On Thursday 12 November the Almeida Theater will start their 'Almeida Greeks season 'with a presentation of The Odyssey, in the style of The Iliad. From 9am until 9pm, an army of artists will read Hómēros' sequel, live-streamed free from unusual and iconic locations across London. For opportunities to join parts of the action live on location, follow @AlmeidaTheatre and #Odyssey, like Almeida Theater on Facebook or join their elist to stay updated. It will be streamed live on the theater's website, with Twitter commentary throughout the day from @AlmeidaOdyssey.

That's awesome! My town does this once a year with a group of volunteers, mostly high school Greek students, university students and anyone interested, really. For 24 hours, we read either the Iliad or the Odyssey (it alternates each year) and people can come and go as they like. Awesome to see others are doing this on a larger scale!
